PhysIOL created in 1986 from a spin-off of the University of Liège (Belgium) PhysIOL designs, manufactures and markets innovative intraocular lenses. For more than 30 years, PhysIOL have been striving to offer high performance optical solutions, meeting the strictest requirements, focusing on our mission, which is to improve the quality of sight, and therefore, the quality of life. The products are supplied to ophthalmic surgeons in over 70 countries, through a worldwide network.
The acrylic lenses are intended for implantation in the capsular bag after opening of the capsule by capsulotomy and should replace the optical function of the natural crystalline lens. Intraocular lenses from PhysIOL are controlled individually for their optical properties. The multifocal intraocular lenses are intended to provide near, intermediate and distance vision and reduce spectacle dependence. They have biconvex optics with an aspheric anterior diffractive trifocal structure that partitions the light to give pseudo-accommodative vision (FineVsion Technology). The add-power for near vision is + 3.5 diopters and for the intermediate vision + 1.75 diopters allowing the patient to benefit from near vision without a reading aid, and from increased spectacle independence for near and intermediate visions.
